Dr. Charisse Beaumont is the CEO of Black Lives in Music (BLIM), co-founded in 2020 to promote equality for Black and ethnically diverse musicians. Under her leadership, BLiM has led pioneering research, including the ground-breaking Being Black in the UK Music Industry report.
Charisse’s work includes collaborating with 100+ organisations to drive systemic change, reshaping workforce practices, and conducting research on discriminatory licensing and its impact on the Black live music industry.
She was named to Music Week’s Women in Music Roll of Honour in 2022, awarded an honorary Doctorate of Music in 2023, and recognised as Campaigner of the Year at the Music Week Women in Music Awards 2024 for her contributions to the industry.
